Ayrshire

Ayrshire is perhaps best known for one particular resident: Robert Burns. Yet long before Mr Burns ever disturbed a mouse in the Ayrshire feilds it had some other fascinating inhabitants- at least if legend is to be believed.

Cannibals to Kings, Fairies to the Devil himself and even the odd Druid sage and Celtic Goddess; the folk history Ayrshire is full of remarkable characters. It is even believed that many of these tales fuelled Burns’s works- especially that of his epic: Tam O’Shanter.

Ayrshire’s vast history alongside its folklore makes this a place in Scotland where the two often collide creating some very vivid and exciting tales which we look forward to sharing with you.
